(TargetLiberty.org) – On Thursday, House Oversight Democrats criticized Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) claiming he has withheld evidence or misled the public about the Republicans’ discussions with witnesses in the probe into President Biden’s family and business.

Ranking Member Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) in a letter sent to Comer claimed that he had been troubled by his recent statements about having had “four people” come in to speak about the Biden family investigation. He added that “either you have intentionally misrepresented the Committee’s investigative progress to your conservative audience or that key investigative steps have been deliberately withheld from Committee Democrats.” He continued to write that in both of those cases Comer had failed to “act transparently and candidly” by withholding information from the House minority.

This lack of transparency and provision of information also undermines the credibility of the investigation which Comer had claimed was going to be “fair and balanced.”

In the letter sent on Thursday, Raskin claimed that the Democratic staff had previously inquired about new witnesses and information following the first media appearance that Comer had made in which he had said that there had been four different witnesses.

Comer’s staff on the other hand had claimed that there were no new witnesses and that the chairman’s comments were about two witnesses, Eric Schwerin and Kathy Chung, whom the Democrats already had information on.

Still, earlier this week Comer once again told Fox Business that they were talking with “four former Biden family business associates” who would be a part of the probe.
