(TargetLiberty.org) – The GOP’s top man in the House has hit out at the Biden administration’s increasing use of the US military as a political weapon. Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) sent a tweet on March 15 calling on Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin to stop it, calling it a “dangerous precedent.”
.@DeptofDefense is being politicized. Uniformed service members recently criticized a private citizen for his First Amendment rights, & today a Dem lawmaker used soldiers in a political stunt against a GOP member.@SecDef Austin—This sets a dangerous precedent. It must stop now.

On Monday, a Guam Democrat brought a group of Guam National Guardsmen to the Capitol office of Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, (R-GA) reportedly in protest of comments she’d made. Last week, senior officers and NCOs from the US Army and Marine Corps launched public verbal attacks on Fox host Tucker Carlson after he criticized the administration for dragging the military into identity politics.
Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) has asked for a meeting with the Commandant of the Marine Corps to discuss attacks on Carlson and others. Meanwhile, McCarthy is taking the issue public to coerce the military out of the political arena before something goes horribly wrong.
