(TargetLiberty.org) – The Nevada Democratic Party was plunged into crisis on Saturday, after the entire staff quit in protest at a socialist takeover. While the mainstream media and the Left love to talk about the GOP’s internal tensions, it appears the Democrats have their own set of issues to deal with.

On March 6, the Nevada Democrats held elections to choose the state’s new party leadership – and all five positions were taken by a “progressive” coalition backed by the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA). The so-called “NV Dems Progressive Slate” has been trying to seize control of the party since 2016, and on Saturday, they succeeded. New NV party chair Judith Whitmer and all but one of her four party officers are paid members of the local DSA.
Mainstream Nevada Democrats have lost the fight, but they don’t want to work with Whitmer and her far-left cabal, either. Right after the election results came in, executive director Alana Mounce emailed Whitmer to congratulate her on her win – and to tell her the entire party staff was resigning. The move leaves Whitmer isolated; Nevada’s elected Dems want to get elected again, and don’t think having an socialist local party is going to help them much.
