(TargetLiberty.org) – NBA Golden State Warriors minority owner Chamath Palihapitiya recently spoke on a podcast about the alleged human rights atrocities happening in China. He emphasized “nobody cares” about what’s happening to the Uyghur people. Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) responded to his heartless comments, calling for the National Basketball League to force Palihapitiya to “sell his interest” in the San Francisco, California team.
The billionaire tried to walk his comments back following the podcast, but it appears his empty words came too late.
Woke CEO Chamath Palihapitiya said no one cares about the CCP’s mass enslavement, torture, & rape of religious minorities. The NBA will prove itself greedy, spineless, & hypocritical if it doesn’t force Palihapitiya to sell his interest in the Warriors.https://t.co/pKHcO6HbR5

In a statement, Cotton said the CEO might not care about the “enslavement, torture, and rape” of the Uyghurs people in China, but other Americans care a great deal. For instance, the team for which Palihapitiya is part owner, stated he does not represent the Warrior’s view on the matter. They’re already trying to put distance between the “woke” tycoon who apparently thinks America should concentrate on internal affairs and themselves.
Now it’s up to the NBA to show if they stand behind the owner’s original statement or if they will follow the senator’s advice by ousting him from the California team.
