(TargetLiberty.org) – Senator Tim Scott from South Carolina, a member of the Republican Party, is anticipated to make an appearance alongside former President Donald Trump during an event in South Carolina. This gathering is generating buzz about the possibility of Scott being considered for the vice-presidential slot on Trump’s ticket.
The event, labeled as a “Get Out the Vote” rally, is scheduled to take place at the Charleston Area Convention Center in North Charleston. This event is particularly noteworthy as it precedes the South Carolina GOP primary by just 10 days, a critical juncture in the political calendar.
Previously, in a conversation with Maria Bartiromo on Fox News, Trump mentioned Scott along with South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem as individuals he was considering for his vice-presidential candidate. He also addressed and dismissed speculations regarding outreach to Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. for a potential alliance, clarifying that such discussions never occurred.
Senator Scott, when asked about the prospect of being Trump’s running mate, emphasized his primary focus on ensuring Trump’s victory over President Biden. He expressed his belief in the benefits of Trump’s leadership and highlighted the importance of staying focused on the goal.
Scott had previously launched his own bid for the presidency in 2024 but chose to suspend his campaign and endorsed Trump shortly before the New Hampshire primary. This move underscores the consolidation of support within the GOP for Trump’s candidacy.
In the meantime, Nikki Haley, Trump’s main competitor within the Republican Party and former Governor of South Carolina, continues her campaign efforts across the state and plans to extend her activities to Texas, aiming to garner support ahead of Super Tuesday.
The support for Trump’s campaign is strong among Republican officials in South Carolina, both at the state and federal levels, indicating a solid base of backing for his bid for the White House.
