(TargetLiberty.org) – Recent reports emerged noting that many Democratic leaders have privately been calling for President Joe Biden to drop out of the presidential race. This comes at a time when former President Donald Trump is officially set to accept his party nomination at the Republican National Convention.

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., and even Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., have recently expressed concerns that Biden is not only going to lose his reelection bid but would also hurt the party’s attempt to win back the House and maintain its majority in the Senate in the upcoming November election.

Despite 20 congressional Democrats calling for Biden to drop out of the race publicly, Biden has thus far claimed that he will not be dropping out of the race. Concerns and criticisms over Biden’s mental acuity and ability to serve in office have increased following his weak performance in the June 27 presidential debate against Trump.

On Wednesday, Biden announced he was sick , causing a halt in his campaign efforts as he will need to self-isolate for a time.

Trump on the other hand recently survived an assassination attempt and is at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, where he is going to be addressing the public.

While in recent weeks the Democrats have appeared to be divided, many of Trump’s former rivals have arrived in Milwaukee in a display of unity showing support for Trump including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley.

On July 21st, Biden announced that he would no longer be running for another term, and put his full support behind his Vice President, Kamala Harris to be the Democratic nomination.
