Texas Governor Blames Biden for Death of National Guardsman

Biden QUIET As Tragic Death Of National Guardsman Is Known

(TargetLiberty.org) – Border security has already proven to be a weak spot for the Biden administration, with tens of thousands of illegal immigrants flooding into the country. Unknown numbers of migrants have died on the people-trafficking routes. Now, Americans are dying too, and a GOP governor is blaming President Joe Biden.

On April 22, Specialist Bishop E. Evans, Texas Army National Guard, was deployed on Operation Lone Star as part of Texas’ efforts to control the flow of illegal immigrants from Mexico. While patrolling near Eagle Pass, Evans saw two migrants who appeared to be in trouble as they attempted to swim the Rio Grande into the US.

Ignoring the risk to his own life, the 22-year-old Guardsman plunged into the water in a bold attempt to save the two men. Tragically, he was overcome by the current and was swept away. His body was found by Border Patrol agents three days later.

Governor Greg Abbott (R) praised how soldiers are willing to risk their lives for others, as he paid tribute to Specialist Evans, whom he called “both a Texan and American hero.” He had harsh words for the Biden administration, though. When asked by Fox host Guy Benson if the administration shared the blame for Evans’s death, Abbott said it was “100% correct” that Biden is partly responsible. Texas having to deploy Guard troops on the border is a travesty. Then, he slammed Biden for ending Trump’s Remain in Mexico policy.

The Texas Military Department later confirmed the two migrants Evans tried to rescue were trafficking illegal narcotics into the US. They’re now being held by Customs and Border Protection.
