Texas Bans Mandatory COVID Passports

(TargetLiberty.org) – The latest threat to freedom suggested by the Biden administration is the vaccine passport – a license to travel, enter stores, bars and use other services. Last week, Florida ruled out using them; now Texas has joined the dissenters.

On April 6, Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) signed an executive order preventing any regulation forcing Texans to show a COVID passport to access products or services. It also bans any organization that receives state funding from asking for proof of vaccination. The only exemptions are for nursing homes and long-term care facilities, which need to protect vulnerable residents.

Governor Abbott announced the executive order and praised the program that’s already delivered vaccine shots to 13 million Texans. He stressed that vaccinations will always be voluntary. However, he will continue to encourage them to protect public health, “and we will do so without treading on Texans’ personal freedoms.”
