(TargetLiberty.org) – A new NBC News report showed that both the judge overseeing the legal case brought forth against former President Donald Trump in regard to the hush money payments, as well as his family have received many threats since Trump was arrested on Tuesday.

Following his arraignment Trump claimed that Judge Juan Merchan is a “Trump hating judge” during a post on his social media platform Truth Social. Similar comments were also extended to the rest of Merchan’s family.

Prior to his arraignment Trump had claimed that if indicted in this case there would be “potential death and destruction.” At the arraignment, Merchan had warned Trump to not try to use his social media posts to incite violence.

Despite this warning, Trump has continuously attacked many of those who are involved in the case, including not only Merchan but also Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg (D), who requested a grand jury to approve the charges brought forth against Trump.

In the 24 hours following the hearing, both Merchan and his family have received “dozens” of threats according to two sources close to the matter. Other sources have noted that Bragg and other top officials have also received threats through calls, emails, and letters.

As a precaution court officers have increased the security afforded to Merchan, which the New York Police has assigned the District Attorney’s office security detail and additional staff for safety.
