Soros DA Reportedly Cut Secret Deals With Suspects

( – Another progressive district attorney funded by left-wing billionaire George Soros is in the news for all the wrong reasons. This time, the family of a murder victim claims the liberal prosecutor made a deal with his killers so he could push the soft-on-crime agenda on which he based his campaign.

On June 23, 2020, Christopher Branham, a 26-year-old father of two from Round Rock, Texas, disappeared from a local motel. Nearly six weeks later, two farmers found his body in a cornfield with two bullets in his head. A police investigation quickly led to Anthony Davis and Kyle Cleveland, who were arrested two days later and charged with murder.

Cops say they were part of a gang of five who beat and robbed Branham. After the assault, the two took him to the cornfield and shot him. Branham’s family says there’s “overwhelming” evidence against the two, and they were expecting the killers to spend the rest of their lives in prison. But now, there’s a problem.

In January 2021, a new District Attorney took over in Travis County, Texas. Jose Garza, a Democratic Socialist ran on a platform of ending prosecutions for low-level drug possession. He quickly told the Branham family he wasn’t going to pursue capital murder charges against Davis and Cleveland. Then he sentenced another member of the gang, 14-year-old Shawna Rogers, to a rehabilitation center until her 18th birthday — despite witnesses saying she had stomped on Branham during the robbery.

Charges against Jesse Perkins, another perpetrator, were dismissed by Garza; the fifth assailant, Jamil Watford, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and wasn’t charged with murder despite having planned the robbery. Branham’s family say Garza secretly cut a deal with Perkins because “He doesn’t care about victims” — and it looks like they’re right.
