(TargetLiberty.org) – The Pentagon says claims that Defense Secretary Mark Esper is about to quit are false – and Esper will be working hard to push through the administration’s military reforms before the next presidential term begins. On November 5, NBC reported Esper had written his resignation letter, and highlighted some disagreements he’s had with President Trump. However, on Monday, DOD spokesman Jonathan Hoffman said Esper is staying on and working to make the president’s National Defense Strategy irrevocable.

The National Defense Strategy aims at strengthening and rebalancing the US military to meet growing threats from Russia, China and North Korea. It combines increased funding for defense with improved readiness, more lethal weapons and a strengthened network of reliable allies. Esper is determined to get the strategy in place as soon as possible so that, even if Joe Biden does win the election, America’s defenses are ready to meet today’s security challenges.
