(TargetLiberty.org) – A trade organization representing more than half a million hair salon owners has filed a lawsuit against California’s Democrat governor, Gavin Newsom. The Professional Beauty Federation of California (PBFC) says it’s unjust that its members are being forced to remain closed while other businesses reopen.
Newsom has announced a four-stage plan to restart California’s economy and it’s currently at stage two. Manufacturing businesses and some others classified as low risk have been allowed to restart. But, the state’s 500,000 hairdressers, nail care specialists and makeup artists have been told they can’t go back to work yet.

Now the PBFC, working with the Center for American Liberty and the Dhillon Law Group, has launched a legal challenge to Newsom’s regulations. Attorney Harmeet Dhillon says “They’re licensed professionals with degrees… it doesn’t make sense why nail & beauty salons remain closed, it’s injustice.”
