Russia Defends China -- Pelosi Visit Critiqued as

The Tables Have TURNED On Pelosi – Putin Reacts!

(TargetLiberty.org) – The Russian regime has joined Chinese criticism of the House Speaker’s visit to Taiwan on August 2. Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called the visit “provocative” and accused the US of “confrontation.” It’s yet another sign of an increasingly close alliance between two aggressive, authoritarian nations.

Following Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) appearance, Beijing erupted into its usual bluster and bullying against both the US and the island democracy, but, this time, Russia joined in. Lavrov claimed the Beijing-based government’s “sensitivity… is justified” and insisted that the Kremlin only recognizes one China. Still, Taiwan has never been part of the People’s Republic of China.

Since Putin’s invasion of Ukraine in February, President Xi Jinping has been one of the few leaders to maintain links with Vladimir Putin’s regime. In fact, those links are now closer than ever. China has bought huge quantities of Russian oil, freed up by western sanctions, and continues to participate in joint military exercises with Russia’s military. There have even been rumors Beijing could directly support the invasion forces with weapons supplies.

Chinese leaders have strongly criticized sanctions on Moscow and insisted on a “negotiated peace” to end the Ukraine war. The communist dictatorship regularly tries to intimidate Taiwan with military force and openly threatens to invade. Now, it can see the consequences Russia is facing for a similar land grab.

Do you think the US and its allies are making consequences clear to China regarding the intolerance of its imperialistic ambitions?
