(TargetLiberty.org) – Wisconsin’s two US senators have joined forces in a bipartisan call for outsiders to stop politicizing last week’s multiple killings in Waukesha. The vehicular attack on a festive parade has stoked existing divisions in the country, and the stricken state’s senators want it to stop.
In a joint statement released on November 27, Senators Ron Johnson (R-WI) and Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) said they were aware that “outside individuals or groups” were trying to exploit the November 21 attack, which left 6 dead and over 60 injured, for political reasons.
“We are asking anyone considering such action to cease and desist,” said @SenatorBaldwin and @SenRonJohnson.
Outside parties may attempt to exploit the #WaukeshaMassacre for “political purposes,” the US senators who represent #Wisconsin said. https://t.co/REZ6vh5xON

Many Conservatives are angered at how the media has avoided labeling the attack “domestic terrorism,” as they usually rush to do when a white perpetrator carries out an attack. In fact, journalists have tried to dodge any discussion of what motivated suspected perpetrator Darrell E. Brooks, a black rapper and BLM supporter with a long criminal record.
Now, Senators Johnson and Baldwin are calling for everyone to put politics aside for now and come together to support the people of Waukesha. In a statement, they said the town’s healing process, the investigation and the process of justice for Brooks won’t be easy, and will be “even more difficult if conducted within a politically charged atmosphere.”
Right now, Johnson and Baldwin have put politics aside to focus on the needs of their state and its people – and they want the rest of the country to do the same.
