Ron DeSantis Declares “Florida Is No Place for COVID Theater”

Ron DeSantis Declares

( – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) angered critics in the first week of March during an event at the University of South Florida with high school students. The visibly annoyed leader told kids who were standing behind him to take off their masks if they wanted to, calling them “COVID theater.”

On March 9, the Republican governor and Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo attended an event in West Palm Beach with other experts to discuss the alleged failures of COVID-19 mandates and lockdowns. In a press release after the event, DeSantis’ office accused the medical establishment and politicians of stoking fear and pushing policies that the governor says don’t work. He said the data shows what works and what doesn’t.

“It is long past time to stop the COVID Theater,” DeSantis said.

Florida was one of the only states that didn’t push draconian lockdowns for very long. At the beginning of the pandemic, the Republican closed state parks and put rules in place for certain businesses, but the measures were only enacted for a short time. Soon, the state was open for business as usual and DeSantis never looked back.

Do you agree it’s time for the COVID Theater to end?
