(TargetLiberty.org) – Shortly before his inauguration, President Joe Biden proposed a $1.9-trillion COVID-19 relief package. Since then, the Democratically-controlled Congress has threatened to push the bill through without support from the GOP. But now a group of Republican lawmakers is proposing alternative legislation.
On January 31, Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA) told “Fox News Sunday” that he and nine other GOP senators have a $600-billion coronavirus package ready to go. The lawmaker explained the Right’s legislation is targeted. He went on to say Biden claims he wants bipartisanship, but if that were true then he would have actually tried to work with Conservatives.

The GOP bill would provide $20 billion to get kids back to school and $160 billion to fund vaccinations. It also allocates $4 billion for substance abuse and direct payments to families. This compromise could provide the assistance people need on a more affordable budget. Meanwhile, Biden and the Democratic Party just want to throw money away without a clear focus.
