(TargetLiberty.org) – On Sunday Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calf.) in an appearance on “Sunday Morning Futures” with Fox News host Maria Bartiromo was asked about why the House GOP had not subpoenaed Hunter Biden.
In response, he stated that President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter, was going to be subpoenaed at an appropriate time. He proceeded to analyze what would be considered the right time, by questioning whether it should be done when it is wanted by “television” or when the facts from the investigation of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee come out. He added that he believes the bank statements are necessary for determining where the funds actually went, which would in turn also help determine what questions Hunter Biden should be asked.
Last week McCarthy announced that they were going to be launching an official impeachment inquiry against President Biden following the probes led by the House GOP into his family’s foreign business activities.
House Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio.) have in the past few months led the probes into Hunter Biden’s role as a member of the board of Burisma Holding, a Ukrainian energy company, while his father was serving as the vice President.
McCarthy pointed out in his announcement of the impeachment inquiry that the House GOP had unearthed several allegations regarding Biden’s “culture of corruption.” On Sunday he reiterated that it was important for Americans to understand that there is a “strategy” and they were following the facts. He added that they would not just subpoena Hunter Biden in order to fundraise or for any other reason other than to follow the facts.
