Republicans Launch New Plan to Take Back House in 2022

( – Congressional Republicans are refining their strategy ahead of next year’s midterm elections, in a bold plan to take back control of the House and end President Biden’s radical reform plans.

On June 2, the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) told journalists that it plans to target five House seats in the northeast – seats that are seen as vulnerable to turning red. The first step in the process will be an intensive ad campaign aimed at voters who might be disillusioned with their representatives.

The first five Dems in the NRCC’s sights are Matt Cartwright (D-PA), Jared Golden (D-ME), Jahana Hayes (D-CT), Tom Malinowsky (D-NJ) and Chris Pappas (D-NH). Golden has annoyed Maine fishermen by pushing environmental issues, and Republicans plan to push this message strongly. Malinowsky faces allegations of profiting from the COVID pandemic by selling stock in medical businesses. Cartwright is pushing for more tax on gasoline, while Hayes and Pappas are faced with falling majorities.

In total, the NRCC plans to target at least 47 House seats; these 5 are only the start of the campaign.
