(TargetLiberty.org) – On Tuesday, GOP committee chairs Tom McClintock, R-Calif., and Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, in a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas demanded further information relating to the illegal migrant who has been arrested for having allegedly killed Laken Riley, a nursing student in Georgia.
House Judiciary chair Jordan and Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity, Security and Enforcement chair McClintock have requested access to all documentation of the illegal immigrant Jose Antonio Ibarra, from Venezuela, who is currently facing a number of charges including assault, kidnapping, and murder charges over the death of Riley, 22, who was found dead on the University of Georgia campus during her run. The cause of death has been determined to be blunt force trauma.
In September 2022, Ibarra along with his brother Diego Ibarra had illegally entered the country, however, they had been released by the Biden administration into the country’s interior. A year after entering the country Jose Ibarra had been arrested by New York Police Department officers on charges related to acting in a manner that would injure a child under the age of 17 as well as a motor vehicle license violation.
The two wrote in the letter that criminal illegal immigrants were exploiting the vulnerabilities of the country’s immigration system which was a detriment to the people of the United States. They added that the immigration policies followed by the administration would increase the chances of illegal criminals successfully entering the United States and remaining in the country.
They further gave Mayorkas until March 12 to provide access to all the information requested.
