Republican Candidate Calls Out Biden’s ‘Failed Presidency’

Republican Candidate Calls Out Biden's

( – President Biden is lending his support to the Democrat candidate in a key gubernatorial race – but it might not be having the effect he’d hoped to get. The Republican challenger has laughed it off as an irrelevant move by a failing president.

Former Virginia governor Terry McAuliffe (D) is running for re-election in the state’s November 2 vote, and he’s lining up the Democrat big guns to support his campaign. It’s even rumored that President Biden will campaign with McAuliffe in the last few days before the election. Republican candidate Glenn Youngkin isn’t intimidated, though.

On October 24, Fox News correspondent Mark Meredith asked Youngkin if he was worried about the prospect of facing the president on the campaign trail. “I’m not afraid, I’ll be honest,” Youngkin replied. Highlighting the faltering economy, the ongoing crisis at the Mexican border and the catastrophic pullout from Afghanistan he said, “You can’t help but look at President Biden and recognize what a failed presidency looks like.”

That message could resonate with Virginians. The state helped elect Biden in 2020, but are voters becoming disillusioned with the struggling president? The race for the governor’s mansion is neck and neck, with Youngkin winning approval for his support of parents’ rights to be heard on education – and only time will tell whether Biden can tip the scales against him.
