(TargetLiberty.org) – When Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) heard about DirecTV’s action to cut off a conservative news channel, he publicly canceled his subscription to the media service. Is this the start of a wider backlash against liberal media organizations that unjustly block conservative views?
Last week, AT&T subsidiary DirecTV announced it wouldn’t be renewing its contract with One America News (OAN) Network. The move was immediately blasted by Republicans, who see it as yet another crackdown on views other than those of the approved liberal line.
Representatives Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Lauren Boebert (R-CO) both took to social media to criticize the decision. Senator Paul decided criticism wasn’t enough, so he went a step further and canceled his DirecTV subscription. He followed his action saying, “Why give money to people who hate us?”
.@DIRECTV is cancelling @OANN so I just cancelled my home Direct TV. Why give money to people who hate us?

Former President Donald Trump also hinted at, but didn’t directly call for, a boycott during his Saturday rally in Arizona. He condemned DirecTV’s decision and blamed it on political pressure, calling it “a disgrace.”
He went on to say “Maybe what we should do is not use AT&T.”
It looks like Senator Paul has taken him at his word.
