Poll: Is America Better Than It Was a Decade Ago?

Poll: Is America Better Than It Was a Decade Ago?

Here’s the Background Story:

With the constant negativity that permeates mainstream media (MSM) and entertainment industries, it’s all too easy to believe that the world is falling apart. The MSM pushes stories that supposedly reveal that America is a terrible place to live and is only getting worse. Now that 2020 is here, people on social media have taken the “decade challenge” in which they compare themselves, or other aspects of society, as they are now versus how they were a decade ago.

Naturally, that compels us to ask a question: has America gotten any better over the last 10 years?

Here Are the Contributing Factors:

Let’s take a look at some numbers to see if things how things have changed.

For one, according to one of the most recent studies, worldwide child mortality rates fell by 25% from 2010 to 2017. In America, that rate is less than 1%. This improvement can partially be attributed to America’s humanitarian aid given overseas.

What about the environment? Well, carbon dioxide emissions have decreased by 12% since 2005 in America. This is absolutely steady progress for those concerned about the environment and air quality.

The constant fear of American military intervention among the Left is pervasive, especially given the current situation with Iran. However, the number of troops America has deployed overseas dropped 42% over the last decade.

The economy is also doing better than some people give credit. In 10 years, the nation’s GDP has skyrocketed by 40% while unemployment has gone from 9% to 3.6%. Additionally, median household income has gone up by 7%.

More people are working and making more on average than 10 years ago. Sounds pretty liberating, to be honest.

On the other hand, the national debt continues to rise no matter which party is in control.

In terms of technological advancement, computers continue to become more powerful. Microprocessor transistor counts have effectively doubled each year since 1970. That’s why consumer electronics have become so powerful in such a short amount of time, especially the iPhone.

We’re also getting closer to making quantum computers a part of everyday life, which will change the landscape of technology forever.
