(TargetLiberty.org) -Former Vice President Mike Pence’s potential plan to place a bid on the White House has potentially been halted by two challenges that arose on Thursday and Friday.

According to recent reports, the Department of Justice’s special counsel Jack Smith who is leading the two investigations against former President Donald Trump subpoenaed Pence for any information he has regarding January 6, 2021, and the Capitol riot. This is not the only little hurdle that Pence now has to handle. On Friday, an FBI investigation into his Indiana home resulted in the discovery of an additional classified document with classified markings.

Last month, Pence with the assistance of external counsel had discovered a small number of classified documents in his home. The documents were handed over to the National Archives after Pence’s lawyer sent a letter to the National Archives informing them of the discovery.

The FBI search in Pence’s home lasted around five hours and resulted in the discovery of another document with classified markings as well as a few other documents that were recovered by the agents.

While the case regarding the documents might not have an extreme effect on Pence’s ability to run in 2024, the subpoena could cause him problems as he is going to have to provide his testimony in a case investigating his former President. Pence has often spoken about the successes of the Trump-Pence administration, but after he testifies he might find that the Republican base is not as open to his candidacy.
