(TargetLiberty.org) – On Friday, during an appearance at the Iowa State Fair, former Vice President Mike Pence argued that he could not relate to President Biden over the recent appointment of a special counsel who will be responsible for his son’s investigation since his own son was serving in the military during Pence’s time in the White House.
During the press gaggle, he started off by saying that he had just heard about the appointment of a special counsel, but that he believed it was time for one to be appointed so that they could reach a conclusion on exactly what the Biden family had been doing. He added that the American people deserved to know the truth and that he was supportive of the appointment.
Attorney General Merrick Garland had announced earlier on that same day that U.S. Attorney David Weiss who had previously handled the investigation into Hunter Biden in Delaware would now be appointed as special counsel in the federal case related to the Hunter Biden investigation. Weiss had already brought charges against Hunter Biden for tax evasion and illegal gun possession.
Hunter Biden’s legal team had previously claimed that the Department of Justice had closed their investigation into the President’s son, however, the recent appointment is proof that it’s not the case.
James Comer, R-Ky., the House Oversight Committee Chairman argued that the announcement of a special counsel was just another attempt by the Department of Justice to cover up the Biden family’s activities in light of the recent evidence that has come out about them “selling ‘the brand’” to foreign nationals for millions of dollars.
