Online Store Bans Sale of Gun Parts and Accessories

(TargetLiberty.org) – Online craft fair Etsy has jumped on the anti-Second Amendment bandwagon and thrown many of its sellers under the bus. In a statement released on May 11, Etsy announced that all gun parts would be removed from the site on May 25.

On May 11, Etsy told journalists that as of May 25, the ban on gun sales would be extended to cover gun parts and any accessory that attaches to a firearm. Claiming the move was prompted by “safety” and complying with “industry, legal and regulatory standards,” they said affected sellers had been given two weeks to comply with the May 25 deadline. On May 24, the site’s terms and conditions didn’t mention the new policy.

Several Etsy sellers who make decorative custom handgun grips and rifle slings say they’re going to need to find new marketplaces for their work. One of them also questioned the decision for Etsy to shut itself out of a healthy – and growing – market, and harm small American businesses — everything it’s supposed to stand for — in the process.
