(TargetLiberty.org) – Across the country, gun activists are coming together to pass ordinances in their communities that protect the rights of Americans. Now America’s largest counties have joined the fight.
This week, Maricopa County in Arizona became the biggest county in the country to pass a Second Amendment sanctuary measure. The Board of Supervisors voted 4:1 to make their jurisdiction a “Second Amendment Preservation County.”

Essentially, it declared that it supports the Constitution, but stopped short of prohibiting county resources from being used to uphold gun laws. Maricopa County Sheriff Paul Penzone criticized the lawmakers for their decision. However, Penzone’s opponent in the next election was quick to thank the Board. He reminded everyone, “…the right to carry and bear arms shall not be infringed.”
