(TargetLiberty.org) – On Wednesday, former President Barack Obama applauded President Joe Biden for having his 200th federal judgeship confirmed by the U.S. Senate. This is an important move as many people are concerned about the effect that the November election is going to have on the country’s highest court.
Former senior Obama adviser Dan Pfeiffer has warned that if former President Donald Trump manages to win back the Oval Office in 2024 then it is likely that the Supreme Court is going to have a “MAGA majority” for decades. He has also predicted that Trump would most likely get to appoint another two justices to the Supreme Court if he gets a second term in office as both Justice Samuel Alito and Justice Clarence Thomas are close to retiring.
In an episode of “Pod Save America” Pfeiffer argued that by the time Trump’s second term comes to an end, if he wins the White House, Alito is going to be 78 years old while Thomas will be 82 years old.
During his first presidential term, Trump appointed three Justices Amy Coney Barrett, Brett Kavanaugh, and Neil Gorsuch. Pfeiffer added that if Trump appoints another two Justices, he will have appointed five Justices to court in total, all of whom would be below the age of 60 by the time his second term came to an end. This would mean that the MAGA majority would continue to rule in court for decades.
He pointed out that even if the Democrats win all of the future presidential elections after that point, Trump’s selections would continue to rule over the highest court in the United States.
