(TargetLiberty.org) – On Sunday, GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley dismissed the presidential race polls which show that former President Donald Trump continues to have a strong lead in the race. Instead, Haley pointed out that the majority of people were no longer fond of the “chaos” that surrounded the former President.
During an interview with anchor Shannon Bream from Fox News, Haley had to respond to a question regarding her plans to have Republican primary voters back her over Trump who maintains a strong lead in the race.
In response, Haley argued that while Trump continues to have some support, and he had previously been the “right president at the right time” the main problem with him as a candidate is that there is chaos wherever he goes. She added that this was something Americans could feel and as is clear through the past few elections, this “drama and chaos” had led to the Republican party paying the price.
Haley added that she believes the majority of people are getting tired of the negativity that Trump brings forward. She then pointed out that it was very important to have someone who could easily win the general presidential election by a large margin, and that the only way to have this be done is through beating Biden with more than 9 points, not just with two or three points in the way that Trump might be able to do.
Haley noted that the way in which the GOP could win all the tickets, including the gubernatorial election and congressional elections is through a candidate that can beat Biden by a large margin, and she was the candidate who is able to do that.
Recent polls from Emerson College, CNN, CBS News, and the New York Times have shown that Trump’s lead over President Biden has been increasing in most key swing states.
