California Imposes NEW Bans – More Restrictions Incoming!
(TargetLiberty.org) – California is arguably the most liberal state in the country. The Democratic Party controls the legislature and often passes extremely progressive policies. Its new initiative proposing to control emissions is no different.
On Thursday, August 25, the California Air Resources Board (CARB), whose chair Governor Gavin Newsom (D) appointed, voted to ban the sale of new gasoline-powered cars by 2035. The new rules will set quotas for zero-emissions vehicles, starting in 2026, when 35% of new cars must be green. Every year after, the percentage will increase. So by 2030, 68% will be zero-emission vehicles, culminating in 100% by 2035.
Daniel Sperling, one of the board members, told CNN the vote was “monumental” and claimed the change would be “important for the country and the world.”
Still, outrage over the ban was immediate. Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) asked what families who couldn’t afford electric vehicles should do, “Travel on horseback?”
Today, California is likely to vote into law a plan to ban the sale of all gas-powered cars in the state by 2035, with partial bans beginning in 2026.
No word on what families who can't afford an electric car are supposed to do. Travel on horseback?https://t.co/1A0AMerGZX

The verified GOP Twitter account posted a message calling the change “absurd.”

According to POLITICO, other Blue states will attempt to pass similar laws banning gas-powered vehicles. New York and Oregon are among the states expected to launch their legislation soon.
What do you think about a possible ban on new cars powered by gasoline?
