(TargetLiberty.org) – The 2024 presidential election is just over three years away. Candidates for the party nominations will soon begin emerging, and it seems some Republicans are already making moves.
On April 1, Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) is attending an event in Cedar Rapids hosted by the Iowa GOP, according to a report from Fox News. Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) is also headed to the Hawkeye State for an event on April 15. The state is known as one of the most important in any primary race. Candidates flock there during the campaign in an attempt to secure an early win in the race.
Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo seemed to tease a presidential run recently by tweeting a countdown to election day.

Although each of those Republicans is in a good position to potentially win the candidacy, there’s one wild card: Donald Trump. If he chooses to run for the nomination again, polling shows he would likely win. That could mean other aspiring candidates will sit out and let the former president run again, especially if they believe they won’t be able to beat him. Trump has said he could make a decision after the 2022 midterm elections. Until then, we’ll likely continue to see popular Republicans trying to shore up support.
