A video of Vice President Mike Pence where he denied ever having taken classified documents from the White House has resurfaced following the discovery of classified documents in his Indiana home.

Pence had served as vice President during the Trump administration. He is currently the third person in the past few months to have been part of a classified documents scandal. In August 2022, the FBI seized classified documents from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, while in recent months several batches of classified documents were found in President Biden’s former office and home.

The documents discovered in Pence’s Indiana home have now been handed to the FBI. However, the information regarding the case is not yet clear. According to Pence’s lawyer, around a dozen documents had been found in Pence’s home, which were handed to the FBI. Fox News had reported that the National Archives had been informed of the documents that had been found, which upon discovery were immediately placed in a safe until the FBI could collect them the next day. During this process, Pence had been in Washington, D.C.

The FBI and the Department of Justice are currently reviewing the documents that were found. Trump and Biden are also being investigated over the documents found in their positions. However, a special counsel has been assigned to oversee each of these cases.

The video that resurfaced is from an interview with the Associated Press in which Pence had noted that to his knowledge he had not taken any documents from the White House. In a different interview with ABC’s David Muir, Pence denied that he had taken any classified documents again.
