(TargetLiberty.org) – Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) is standing by her decision to push for Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) to be ousted arguing that his time in a leadership position was coming to an end. House Members are currently waiting to see if there will be a privileged vote on the motion to vacate.

Last month Greene had brought forward a motion to vacate Johnson after he had decided to put a Ukraine aid vote on the floor. The motion to vacate has already received the support of two Republican lawmakers, which could mean that if all Democrats also support the vote to oust Johnson, he could end up out of office. However, so far the Democrats appear to be unwilling to back these efforts.

On Sunday Greene took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to state that permanent Ukraine funding was exactly what the Biden administration and Ukrainian leadership had wanted and that Mike Johnson was willing to give it to them. She continued by arguing that they did not view peace as an option as it was not aligned with the “government appropriations war business” or the economic models they were using, which she said was “disgusting.”

Greene argued that the government was planning on continuing to fund a proxy war in Ukraine, and when that no longer was effective they would be sending American troops on the ground. She continued by arguing that Johnson was going to do whatever President Biden and Senate Majority Leader Schumer told him to do, just so he could continue being the Speaker.
