(TargetLiberty.org) – On Tuesday, late Sen. John McCain’s (R-Ariz.) daughter Meghan McCain slammed Kari Lake, the Arizona Republican Senate candidate, over her attempt to pretend that her insults against her father had only been meant to be a joke.

McCain noted in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, that Kari Lake was trying to backtrack following the attacks she had made against her father, family, and even John McCain’s most loyal supporters whom she had told to “get the hell out.” However, now she was trying to walk back on what she had said as she had realized that she couldn’t become a U.S. Senator without them.

Meghan McCain added that they were able to see who she was and that they were “repulsed” by it.

In 2022 during a campaign event, Lake, who had at the time been running in the state’s gubernatorial election, called out questioning whether any McCain Republicans were there and that they needed to “Get the hell out.” At the time, Lake, who is an avid supporter of former President Donald Trump, argued that the Republican party had been the party of McCain and that Arizona had ended up delivering some losers.

During an interview on Monday on KTAR News 92.3 FM “Outspoken with Bruce and Gaydos”  Lake argued that what she had said was a joke and that McCain who is known as having a “great sense of humor” and if had heard her comment he would end up laughing.
