( – Former Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) has once again alleged that former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) has shoulder-checked him twice in the Capitol building. This comes after McCarthy was accused this week of having elbowed Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) as he was passing through a hallway in the Capitol.

In his new book “Renegade” Kinzinger talks about his relationship with the former Speaker. During a recent interview with CNN on Friday he also spoke about the incident arguing that he had gotten “shoulder-checked.” As he stated this was something that had never happened to him on the House floor before but when he looked around he saw that Kevin McCarthy was “walking past him.”

Following the second incident which had occurred some weeks later Kinzinger stated that he had thought “What a child?!” about McCarthy.

Burchett, who had along with seven other Republicans voted for McCarthy to be removed from the office of Speaker last month, stated that on Tuesday the former Speaker had elbowed him. Burchett stated that at the time he had been talking with reporters and that after being elbowed by McCarthy he had ended up chasing him down and starting to ask him questions.

McCarthy argued that the hit had not been intentional.

Burchett told reporters that McCarthy had elbowed him and that when confronted he argued that he had not done it on purpose.

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), who was the one to file the motion to have McCarthy ousted, filed a complaint with the House Ethics Committee over McCarthy elbowing Burchett.
