(TargetLiberty.org) – Sometimes the right people are in the right place to stop a horrible act of violence. That proved to be true when a Marine veteran stopped by an Arizona convenience store last week.
On October 20, James Kilcer, a Marine veteran, was speaking to a Chevron gas station cashier at about 4:30 a.m. when three suspects dressed in black walked into the store, one of them was pointing a gun. The veteran instantly reacted, grabbing the armed suspect. As he seemingly tackled the armed man, the other two suspects fled the store.
Kilcer told the Yuma Sun that he just happened to be “in the right place at the right time” and just did what had to be done.
A Marine Corps veteran ended an armed robbery at a gas station by lunging at one of the suspects and disarming him.

Kilcer was able to disarm the robber and hold him until the police arrived on the scene. Yuma County Sheriff’s deputies say the suspect was a minor. Authorities sent him to the Juvenile Justice Center where he was charged with one count of aggravated assault and another count of armed robbery.
Sheriff’s officials say the veteran told them the Marine Corps taught him “not to [mess] around” and he certainly didn’t. Fortunately, nobody was injured in the incident.
