(TargetLiberty.org) – Social media giant Twitter doesn’t have many defenders in the GOP – and now one of the few it does have seems to be running out of patience with CEO Jack Dorsey’s left-wing bias.
On December 1, Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) wrote Dorsey a letter asking him to explain his censorship policy, especially how it relates to Chinese Communist propaganda. During the presidential election campaign, Twitter took to adding warnings to tweets by leading Republicans, including President Trump. The additions claimed that the content of the tweets was unverified or misleading.
However, when Chinese foreign ministry official Zhao Lijian tweeted a badly photoshopped fake pic of an Australian soldier holding a knife to a child’s throat on Monday, Twitter did nothing. The dishonest tweet is still there and has been shared over 15,000 times.
Shocked by murder of Afghan civilians & prisoners by Australian soldiers. We strongly condemn such acts, &call for holding them accountable. pic.twitter.com/GYOaucoL5D

Now Rubio, who has previously defended Twitter’s right to police what’s said on its platform, wants to know if the company has reviewed the Chinese tweet – and, if so, why they haven’t done anything about it.
