(TargetLiberty.org) – An alligator trainer had a lucky escape on Saturday after she was attacked by one of her reptiles. Thanks to a quick-thinking savior she was hospitalized, but didn’t lose any body parts.
On August 14, Lindsay Bull (31) was displaying her traveling reptile show for a five-year-old’s birthday party in Salt Lake City, UT, when things went horribly wrong. Bull opened the door of the alligator enclosure to feed her 8.5-foot, 150-pound star attraction, Darth Gator – but, instead of backing off as she entered the space, the alligator lunged forward and grabbed her hand, dragging her into its pool.

Terrified parents grabbed their children and ran. Bull held onto the alligator with her free hand to prevent it from tearing off her arm as she realized the gator was about to roll her over as alligators often do with their prey. Meanwhile, party guest Donnie Wiseman climbed into the enclosure with her and asked how he could help. Bull told him to jump on the alligator’s back, holding it still. Bull then managed to free her hand and was pulled from the tank by another bystander named Todd Christopher, after which she told Wiseman how to escape without being attacked himself. Now she’s expected to fully recover – and the young guests probably won’t forget that birthday party for a long time.
