Liz Cheney Takes Award Sponsored By CCP

Liz Cheney Has Been Taking Gifts From Chinese Communists

(TargetLiberty.org) – Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) has been in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons this year. Her outspoken nature against former President Donald Trump led to her censure and Trump is doing all he can to ensure she’s not re-elected in 2022. As if that wasn’t enough, it appears she’s also cozying up to communists in a not-so-quiet display of hypocrisy.

In June, Cheney was designated an honoree for the Statesmanship Award given by the United States Association of Former Members of Congress (FMC). It’s not the award that’s raising eyebrows, though, it’s one of the sponsors.

China-United States Exchange Foundation

The China-United States Exchange Foundation, or CUSEF, touts itself as an organization whose “aim is to encourage dialogue and exchanges between people of the United States and China.” In reality, its intentions appear to be far more nefarious. The nonprofit was founded by the Vice-Chairman of China’s United Front, which is directly tied to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) with an aim of advancing Beijing’s policies. In other words, CUSEF looks to curry favorable opinions of Beijing by whitewashing all of the negative aspects surrounding the country, such as the climbing evidence of forced slave labor. In 2017, the US government designated China’s United Front as a foreign mission of the People’s Republic of China (PRC).

CUSEF uses its influence to promote “favorable coverage” of Beijing, through offers of free trips to China, which it has previously given to Congress members and journalists alike. The goal is to “disseminate positive messages” about the CCP.

Also closely linked to the CCP is another sponsor — Committee of 100. One look at its mission page shows committee members prominently posing with members of the CCP — including current President Xi Jinping.

Hypocrisy on Full Display

By accepting this award, Cheney is perhaps showing where her loyalties lie. In that respect, it’s important to consider her position on the January 6 committee, where she continues to smear Trump and other high-ranking officials of his administration, such as Mark Meadows. She recently released text messages, some of which were reportedly doctored and taken out of context to further smear Trump’s supporters and give reason to pursue the witch hunt against the former president.

This begs the question: Do you think someone who accepts awards from CCP-linked organizations has any business on a committee designed to investigate and condemn others?
