(TargetLiberty.org) – On Thursday, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) claimed that the homes of both of her daughters had been “swatted.” She argued that this occurred only days from what she estimated to have been the eighth swatting incident involving her.
Swatting is a term used for cases where law enforcement officials have large-scale responses to false claims of an emergency.
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Greene thanked the police involved in the effort noting that she appreciated their efforts after the houses of both of her daughters were swatted. She proceeded to tag the FBI account and state that they would be finding whoever was responsible for these targeted swattings and that then those responsible would not find the situation “funny” anymore.
Greene abstained from providing any further details about her daughters’ experience.
On Christmas Day the Republican Representative had similarly taken to X to state that for the eighth time, reports had led to her home being swatted. As she pointed out this incident had taken place on Christmas when most of her family was there. In that post, she also thanked the local law enforcement officials involved in the incident and praised them for their work while arguing that this is not something they should have to deal with.
In the past couple of years, there have been several swatting incidents in Greene’s home. In August 2022, a caller claimed that there had been a shooting at Greene’s home and the next day a different call also claimed that Greene’s family might have been shot.
In recent days several public officials have reported swatting incidents, including Rep. Brandon Williams (R-N.Y.) and Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.).
