(TargetLiberty.org) – On Monday, MSNBC President Rashida Jones indicated that she would consider hosting a town hall event with former President Donald Trump who is currently the frontrunner in the 2024 Republican presidential primary so long as there were rules in place so that they can “control the environment.”
Sara Fischer, an Axios reporter, specifically asked Jones whether Trump asked her specifically to do an interview with her if she would accept.
Jones in response during an interview at the 2023 Cannes Lions Festival argued that whether or not she would be willing to do it would depend on the parameters that were put in place. Last month Trump had taken part in a Town hall on CNN which had drawn 3.3 million viewers. However, many criticized the network for agreeing to the town hall.
Jones however claimed that her newsgroup was discussing with all presidential candidates in an attempt to bring their views in front of an audience. She added that there are many ways of doing that, whether it is through an interview, a town hall, or a debate. She noted that there are still 505 days until the presidential election and that currently, she does not know whether a town hall is what the audience was waiting for.
Trump is currently leading all the polls for the 2024 GOP presidential primary. Right behind him in the polls is Florida Gov. Ton DeSantis who is often followed by Vice President Mike Pence. Both men joined the race recently while Trump announced his candidacy in November.
