(TargetLiberty.org) – One of the NBA’s greatest ever players has slammed LeBron James for unsportsmanlike behavior, telling the Lakers star “The greatest of all time do not gloat.” It’s a stinging rebuke for a player who’s been getting more coverage for controversy than sport recently.
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on LeBron James’ big balls dance
“Why do you need to do a stupid, childish dance and disrespect the other team on the court? It doesn’t make sense. GOATs don’t dance.” https://t.co/H9bZkXPnTW

On November 28, the NBA announced it had fined LeBron James $15,000 for performing an “obscene” victory dance after a win against the Indiana Pacers the week before. It marked the latest in a string of controversies for James, who received his first suspension on November 23, for hitting Detroit player Isaiah Stewart and was heavily criticized in April for posting a threatening tweet aimed at the Ohio cop who fatally shot Ma’Khia Bryant as she tried to stab another woman.
Now, former Lakers and Milwaukee Bucks legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the top scorer in NBA history and the only player to make NBA All-Star 19 times and win Most Valued Player 6 times, has called James out for his embarrassing dance display. In a video message Abdul-Jabbar said, “For me, winning is enough. Why do you need to do a stupid childish dance?” He went on to criticize James for showing disrespect to the losing team and said, “it doesn’t make sense.”
Abdul-Jabbar, 68, currently serves as a US cultural ambassador. He was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2016 and, in 2017, the Trump administration appointed him to the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee.
