Lawmakers Move to Impeach Biden After Administration Failures

(TargetLiberty.org) – The Biden administration has come under a lot of criticism as the president lurches from one disaster to the next. Now, a group of Republican legislators has moved beyond criticism and launched an attempt to remove the president from office.

On September 21, four GOP representatives — Bob Gibbs (R-OH), Andy Biggs (R-AZ), Brian Babin (R-TX) and Randy Weber (R-TX) — filed articles of impeachment against President Biden. The articles allege that the commander-in-chief has failed to secure our border with Mexico, badly mishandled the withdrawal from Afghanistan, and pushed through a ban on evictions, even though he knew it could be unconstitutional.

The impeachment attempt highlights Republican frustrations with Biden’s questionable leadership, but the odds of it actually forcing the president to step down are almost non-existent. The Democrats currently have a majority in the House, and Gibbs acknowledged that this would pose a challenge for the impeachment effort. It’s likely that this attempt will die in the House, the same way an earlier one launched by Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) in January did.

That might not always be the case, though. Republicans hope to regain control of the House next year, and if they succeed, it’s very possible another impeachment attempt will follow.
