Kayleigh McEnany Says Trump Not Discussing Last-Minute Pardons Like Media Claims

(TargetLiberty.org) – White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany has poured cold water on mainstream media claims that President Trump is considering pardons for his family members. The reports – which are really just speculation – have been seized on by leftists determined to attack the president.

Talking to reporters at her December 2 press briefing, McEnany dismissed the claims, originally made by NBC News, and says she’s never heard the president discussing any pardons apart from former National Security Adviser General Michael Flynn. Flynn, who was the victim of an operation by anti-Trump FBI agents in 2017, was pardoned by the president on November 25. McEnany praised his record, calling the Ranger-qualified former intelligence chief “a valiant hero who served his country on the battlefield.”

Media scaremongering about Trump issuing pardons to his family could backfire. Fox News host Sean Hannity suggested on Tuesday that the president should preemptively pardon his entire family – and himself – to shut down any future harassment by a Democrat administration.
