Kamala Gaffes — Claims US Has Great Alliance With North Korea
(TargetLiberty.org) – We all make verbal slips sometimes, but for most of us, the consequences don’t go much beyond a moment of embarrassment. Unfortunately, it can be a bit more serious when the person making the gaffe is the vice president of the United States. Is this really a great time for Vice President Kamala Harris to be mixing up a strong US ally and its communist enemy?
Whoops! VP Harris makes major gaffe, mistakenly suggesting the US has an alliance with 'North Korea' while visiting the DMZ https://t.co/vGThYhFycZ

On September 28, Harris visited the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), the ironically named hyper-militarized border between South and North Korea. Talking to journalists, the VP praised the close alliance between the US and Korean troops who defend that border. But she seemed confused about which Koreans she meant.
In the very first sentence of her speech, she claimed that “The United States shares a very important relationship, which is an alliance with the Republic of North Korea.” As soon as she said it, one of the reporters commented, “Oops!”
In fact, the US shares an alliance with South Korea, which is officially known as the Republic of Korea. The reason for the alliance is that North Korea, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, has never given up on its ambition of invading and conquering its neighbor to the South.
Harris recovered somewhat after her initial bungle, managing to get both countries’ names right, but it doesn’t look good when the second-top person in the US government makes such a massive error right at the start of a speech.
