(TargetLiberty.org) – On Monday authorities announced that an arrest had been made in connection to the execution-style fatal shooting of Ryan Clinkunbroomer, a Los Angeles Sheriff’s Deputy.

Robert Luna, the Los Angeles County Sheriff reportedly identified the suspect to be Kevin Salazar, 29, after receiving a tip. Clinkunbroomer had been shot on Sept. 16 while inside his patrol vehicles. He later died as a result of his injuries. On Monday afternoon Luna noted that many members of the community had brought forward information that helped in the identification of the suspect as well as locating the vehicle that had been used in the murder.

The Special Enforcement Bureau tactical team of the sheriff’s department were the ones to visit the Palmdale home which surrounded and brought out all of the residence’s occupants. As he noted the suspect had originally refused to come out and had instead barricaded inside of the home. However, with the use of de-escalation techniques, they were able to convince Salazar to exit the property.

In order to bring the suspect out of the property and get him to surrender the team had also deployed chemical agents.

Luna proceeded to congratulate the members of the department for the actions they had taken and their efforts to de-escalate the situation in order to peacefully bring the subject into custody even at a time when they knew that their deputy had not been granted the same opportunity.

Last night the police had announced that a $250,000 reward would be provided for the information that could lead to an arrest in this case.
