(TargetLiberty.org) – On Wednesday, the New York Times reported that outside of a house that is owned by Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito, there was a flag displayed that had previously been used during the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack by the rioters.

Last summer, Alito’s beach vacation home had an “Appeal to Heaven” flag on display. Less than two weeks after the Capitol attack a U.S. flag that was inverted was also on display outside Alito’s Washington home. The latter was a symbol that had been carried by the rioters during the insurrection.

Last week, following the news about the inverted American flag there were many calls from the Democratic party for Alito to recuse himself from dealing in any capacity with former President Donald Trump’s election interference case.

The court and Alito himself have decided that they would not be making any statements regarding the appearance of the “Appeal to Heaven” flag outside his home, or any comments about what the flag was meant to symbolize. Alito had previously claimed that the inverted flag had been put on display by his wife after she had a dispute with the neighbors that was unrelated to him.

In his New Jersey beach home, the white flag with a green pine tree was on display with three different photos dating back to July and September 2023 having emerged showing the flag. However, it is still unclear how much time the flag spent on display or how often Alito visits that home.

This second flag has its roots in the Revolutionary War, but recently it has been used in connection to Christian nationalism and overall support for former President Trump.
