(TargetLiberty.org) – As Canada’s anti-COVID Freedom Convoy closes in on Ottawa, truckers down under are following their example in protest against Australia’s own draconian rules. Now, there’s talk of similar protests in other countries – including the US.

Last weekend, Australian truckers launched a social media campaign urging people to drive to Canberra and protest outside Parliament against vaccine mandates and other COVID restrictions. A GoFundMe page set up to support the protest quickly collected AU $160,000 in donations, although it was later frozen until the organizers could clarify how the money would be distributed.
On Monday, around 800 protesters reached Canberra, where they marched from Federation Mall to Parliament House and mounted a peaceful demonstration in front of the building. Some said they plan to camp there until Parliament is in session and legislators meet them.
Now the idea is spreading, with truckers and citizens in other countries planning their own convoys – including a transcontinental one in the US. A Facebook group called “Convoy to DC 2022” already has over 130,000 followers, and is organizing a trek from California to Washington, DC. Organizer “Brian Von D” released a video saying “America, it’s your turn. It’s your turn to step up and show what you’re made of.”
