(TargetLiberty.org) – Hunter Biden’s lawyers have promised prosecutors that President Joe Biden was going to be a fact witness in his son’s trial if Hunter Biden ends up facing any criminal charges.
In October 2022, Chris Clark, Biden’s then-attorney, had sent a letter to prosecutors warning the Department of Justice that should they choose to file charges against Hunter Biden for purchasing a firearm while having a drug addiction, then President Biden was going to testify as a witness. This letter had been sent following the leaked news that the department had gathered sufficient evidence to move forward with Biden’s indictment.
In the 32-page letter, Clark had written that President Biden would definitely be a “fact witness.” As of last week, Clark is no longer a member of Hunter Biden’s legal team, however, it is unclear whether or not his reason for leaving is connected to the letter that was obtained and released by Politico.
In late July Hunter Biden pleaded not guilty to two counts related to federal taxes and one count connected to gun charges. Earlier in July he had reached a plea agreement that had fallen through. GOP lawmakers had quickly slammed the agreement for being too lenient arguing it was a “sweetheart deal.”
Clark in the letter had attempted to get prosecutors to not file any charges because of the possibility of Biden testifying in a criminal trial which would be in conflict with his Department of Justice and would end up turning into a “constitutional crisis.”
