(TargetLiberty.org) – Kevin Morris, Hunter Biden’s lawyer testified in front of congressional investigators that it had been the first impeachment of former President Donald Trump which had made it an “emergency” for his client to file his tax returns.
During a House Oversight Committee closed-doors meeting Morris testified in the House impeachment inquiry into Joe Biden. The investigators had previously found an email that Morris had sent in February 2020 in which he had spoken about the “political risk” that the election cycle entailed as Joe Biden was at the time a candidate in the Democratic primary.
The email which is dated Feb. 7, 2020, was then presented to Morris during the interview. In the email he had written that while it was not an “emergency” for the filing to be made on the day, it was still necessary for them to file on Monday. He further pointed out that there is a lot of personal and political risk in order for the tax returns to be filed.
Morris in response stated that the investigators probably remembered the impeachment process against Trump and how they were stating that there was a possibility of Hunter Biden being called in. He added that this was what prompted them to prepare Hunter Biden’s tax returns at the time. As he pointed out this was right at the time when he had just started to work for Hunter, who had just been coming off his addiction. Morris then reiterated the importance of taxes being filed correctly.
