( – On Sunday, Republican Senator Roger Marshall from Kansas argued that former President Donald Trump’s adversaries would “fear us” if the former President wins a second term in office in 2024.

In 2020, Marshall was elected to the United States Senate. Before his time in the Senate Marshall served as a House Representative. Last month, he announced his formal endorsement of Trump while also slamming President Joe Biden for his “absent leadership.”

Throughout his time in Congress, Marshall has been a strong supporter of tougher immigration policy that would limit the number of migrants allowed to enter the country through the southern border.

During a recent appearance on Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo, Marshall argued that people needed to not “overreact” over the rhetoric used by the former President. He added Trump would be a President who is focused on securing the border, strengthening the economy and national security, and that during another Trump administration the country’s enemies “will fear us.”

Many on X, formerly known as Twitter, were quick to slam these statements, questioning how it would be possible for Trump to be a “president of national security” considering he is currently facing an indictment related to the classified documents he had failed to return to the National Archive following the end of his first term in office. Trump has been charged with obstructing the return of the documents which he had kept in his home in Mar-a-Lago Florida. Trump has pleaded not guilty to all charges in this case.
